Overview

Contact is a daily word puzzle for iOS made by Nondescript Software Inc. We've designed the app to need as little of your data as possible. This page explains exactly what that means.

What we collect

Nothing personal. Contact does not ask you to create an account, sign in, or provide a name, email address, or any other identifier. There is no analytics SDK in the app.

What the app sends over the network

When you open Contact or switch categories, the app asks our server for today's puzzle. The server is a Cloudflare Worker at contact-daily.nondescriptsoftware.workers.dev. The request contains only the category you selected (for example ?set=regular or ?set=music).

The request does not include your device ID, advertising identifier, name, email, Apple ID, location, or any identifier we can tie back to you. We do not retain server-side logs that record visitor IP addresses.

What the app stores on your device

The app saves your daily progress (revealed letters, completed rounds, win state) and your settings (theme, difficulty, etc.) to iOS UserDefaults — Apple's standard app-preferences store. This data lives on your device. If you have iCloud Backup turned on, it is included in that backup, controlled by Apple's iCloud privacy practices. We never read this data and it is never transmitted to us.

In-app purchases

Contact Premium is an auto-renewing subscription that unlocks the six themed daily categories. Purchases are handled entirely by Apple's StoreKit. We never see your payment information or your Apple ID. Apple's framework tells the app whether your subscription is currently active; we do not store or transmit subscription details to any server we operate.

Third parties

Contact uses only two third parties, both essential to delivering the app:

There are no advertising SDKs, no analytics SDKs, no social SDKs, and no other third-party services in the app.

Children's privacy

Contact does not collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If we update this privacy policy, the revised version will appear on this page with a new effective date. If anything substantive changes — for example, if we ever add analytics or crash-reporting services — we will mention it in the app's release notes.
